The short answer? Yes, But to what degree??
The overall package dictates your ultimate results.
Bottom line, the lighter the rotating mass, the quicker the acceleration.
Tuning also come into play? It all has to Jive!

It's part of the total package if your looking for all you can get out of it. For your set up though you may not notice it much.

Lightening an OE is pretty reasonable cost wise, I still like it anyways
 
Thanks guys , reason for asking is that my lightened flywheel i fitted 2 years ago has come apart. Is this the average life for them or was i just unlucky. If they normally only last a couple of years considering refitting OEM wheel. I like reliability in my life... :rolleyes:

Depends on how it was lightened? If it was intendd to just remove mass? Then it also affected its overall integrity, thus it probably broke in the hub area? For reliability, i have found , removing just outer swing weight , yeilds best overall results performance vs reliability.
