Can't be sure but it appears that this is what happens when somebody machines a 750 motor for 650 electrics and doesn't center the stator perfectly. Hopefully the person who did this steps up and handles it for me as I've only got 7hrs on this motor.

what machining is necessary to fit 650 electrics onto a 750? i thought the bosses were already machined and just the stator mount holes had to be drilled and tapped.

is there more?

yeah you really can't get the stator out of center because the register is cast in at the factory like surfrider mentioned yank the flywheel and check it out

Well, I got it backwards: The stator came loose and ate the flywheel.
It's all back together now. Luckily I had a spare flywheel and stator so I threw that in. Only thing left is to put the chamber and tank back in.

Jason, how long are you out? I'm just about ready to get back on the water. Trying to button up things on my ski tonight and tomorrow.

I'm back up (I hope) but I'm gonna ride mission bay saturday to check things out and make sure all is well. Then I'm gone next weekend for the races in Parker. So 3 weekends from now I'll be back in O-side riding with you guys.
