Fixitman's First Ever RN build

So there's an interesting (to me) back story to this whole ski and what not but I'm sure no one really feels like reading all that so unless anyone actually does lets just hop straight to the build.
2000 RN, used to be a race ski but shes getting converted to a backup FS ski, don't really plan on goin too overboard on this one (chop/rocker/etc.) especially after the chopped SN so were keeping things stock(ish) and try to subtract a bit of weight.
By the looks of the rear corner it probably tumbled out the back of a truck once before...

when I purchased the ski i knew almost nothing about it beside the obvious mods: steering, holds, turf, intake grate, ride plate, prop, pump cone, blowsion head, MSD enhancer, and the blown up motor. was rather pleased whenb i took it apart to find boysen RAD valves and an already bored and ported cylinder.

I bought an old RN race hull that was very similar to your hull, and it had those R&D front sponsons, and surprisingly, they made quite a difference.

not sure if these are R&Ds but they came off super easy and not really sure if i want them back on, leaning more towards leaving them off

took them off and sure enough the stock graphics were still on underneath

Yep, same sponsons...hard to see on my ski but they are there lol.

got the tray cut open too and gutted, as usual it was all nice and waterlogged

Decided to just build my own scupper, looking good so far, working on it alot more this weekend.

Only thing about the valve being that far back is what is something gets clogged in it? no way to remove it...

Not exactly it's final placement yet but it's a rubber flap and not a check valve so nothing should really get stuck in it, I've managed to snake my SN scupper before to dislodge some gasket material lol

so yeah obviously ive kinda forgotten this thread, other life things have gotten in the way and the ski didnt even get painted until the end of summer 16, so heres a fast forward in pics, scupper went together nicely, tray is widened and close, ski painted, motor built and already broken in (used it as a backup when the ss900 blew) and skis painted and in the process of final assembly
