Recently had some exhaust and water getting into engine bay, found my waterbox was the the problem. Seems the inlet is held on by 4 rivits, I only had one left. Also, the bottem of the waterbox has a hole burned threw, so that was leaking as well. Should I just throw some glass over the hole and re-rivit the box or is it probably ruined interally as well? Any other ski have a metal one that will fit instead? 94 Superjet.

It doesn't sound like your waterbox has exploded like some do (happened to me). You could try re-riveting the inlet. You can 'glass or bond an aluminium plate over the hole.

Factory Pipe made a SN-specific water box. I got lucky when my stocker let go and I was able to source one from a dealer for $100. You'd be VERY lucky to find one now.

I've heard of RN water boxes being used in SN 'ski's. I've never done it myself but they look like they should be made to work.

Unless it's mint and cheap I'd probably avoid a stock SN 'box. The youngest will be 20 years old and the glue used in them seems to deteriorate. I think you'd end up blowing the replacement to bits in the near future.

I have a good squarenose waterbox if you don't feel like messing with repairs. $60 shipped to your door. It's just collecting dust at my shop.
