Finally the sj lives again!!!!

Finally got the sj together yesterday, thanks to twisted shadows.

If you guys can remember from my pervious post i ended up having to bore the cylinders over 1mm because of some metal getting eaten by my stock motor and damaging the cylinder. This time, i got all my parts from Jetmaniac, and i got 1mm over Prox topend kit. i then had the cylinders bored over in a machine shop in south miami, which became a mission due to the fact that when the guy was chamfering the ports, he dropped the cylinders and ended up breaking the sleave in the bottom. he ended up replacing the sleave and redoing the job.

I then went through the cases, cylinder, reeds and carbs to make sure i wouldnt have to do another rebuild because of any lose particles.

the build came together really nicely and quickly, i checked all ring gaps and had the pistons bored to the exact tolerances for each hole. We got the ski together in no time, and got her started really nicely. Checked the cold compression and it was a nice 160ish in both cylinders.

Decided to take it out in the bay and run about 30:1 in her for a little bit. She ran great but has to be dialed in a bit more. We did have to adjust the carbs a bit.

When i punch it, it does take off and have some torque to her to pull me up, but when i get to about half throttle and i open her WOT, i dont feel it kick much.. is that supposed to be like that?

My high speeds are completely in if that helps..
i also checked compression a few times, here and there when the motor was still hot and i got an even 160-162 ish in both cylinders.:headbang:
