650/X-2 Factory Wet Pipe

So I have a Factory Pipe on my 650sx, it works great and is tuned perfectly for my style, but if I float in the water for a couple minutes, then it stops resonating properly unless I idle for about 10 seconds. It seems like I have to flush the chamber out by idling it, then it works fine until it sits in the water again. Does anyone else have this problem? Do I need to put a check valve on one of the water lines or something? Thanks.
