Super Jet Factory Pipe for a 701 Raider transplant

Location

I called Factory Pipe today to order the exhaust sytem for my 92 SJ w/ 701 62t/62t from a 95 Raider. They have the the Raider manifold, so I have nothing to change on that, and after searching the forum decided that the limited pipe would be best for my stock motor. But FP said their SJ pipes are not designed for a 701 Raider motor, but she would go with the Mod pipe instead of the Limited. She suggested to ask around for advise.

So if anyone has used this motor with either of those pipes or has any input on the two, please post.

Either pipe should work fine. But see what anyone else says. Some people prefer one over the other.

In theory the limited makes more bottom end than the mod so it might help make up for the 62T cylinder's higher port timing, but its way more difficult to fit in the hull. I like the mod chamber for ease of installation.

And for the record I have both. 1 limited, 1 mod.

ridden both 62t/62t with mod chamber and raider mod chamber with 13/17 and in my opinion ripped for my first 701 motor ...my opinion

Thanks for the replies! Also just realized the Raider has staggered main jetting in the carbs. 120 in the front and 130 in the rear with a 67.5 pilot for both. Did you leave the carbs staggered or match them like on a twin carb SJ? FP recommends going from 130 to 135 for the SJ.

I went with the Mod chamber and and jetting recommended by BruceSki and Factory928. It runs great.

The coupler from the chamber to the OE SN waterbox took two try's. The mod chamber outlet is 2" and the sn waterbox inlet is 2.25". Siliconeintakes.com had a 2 x 2.25 45deg I thought would work good, but the angle is more like 60deg's and the 45 kinked. Went with a 2" 60deg from them, ground off the rib on the waterbox, and the 2"x2" coupler slipped on pretty easy with some soap.

The hood breather tube on the carb side had to be changed since it hits the now twin carb motor. I just added two Blowsion 1.5" hoses closer to the gas tank to clear the OE flame arrester. Didn't have to change the breather tube on the other side.

Will probably replace the throttle cable with a JM Big Bore and need to find a finger throttle for my small hand.
