im running one of those pro-tec nozzle set ups. basically their trim system minus the trim function and guts. so just the nozzle and steering.

i think the nozzle is extended. is this why my handling isn't as "quick" as my buddy's stock nozzle set up.

the ball bin is on the outter circle of my UMI turn plate.

It certainly wouldn't hurt to lop an inch off that (or enough to match OEM). I am quite certain that they were designed for racing and stability. If you aren't using the trim system, you might want to just go with an OEM plastic steering nozzle. It's quite a bit lighter too.

Regardless of which nozzle you use, many people have also built adapters to move the steering ball in closer at the nozzle side. The furthest out on the turnplate combined with closest in at the steering nozzle will give you the fastest turning ratio.
