Over this winter im going to try and build a motor for my SN. I am running a 6m6 650 motor now, with a coffman sizzler pipe. in the interest of being in school on a tight budget, i need to keep the pipe on whatever i run this spring. Now, can i take this pipe over to a 701 cylinder without issues? I am thinking it will fit the 61x cylinder but not the 62t, correct? any posting needed? i hear the 6m6 top end is very mildly ported and just the 701 upgrade should show some decent power.

my plan is a 61x top, 62t case, a head, msd enhancer, and solas 9/15. I want to keep it on 91 octane pump gas, stock carbs. just a bit more punch for the next season.

Believe it or not both the 61x and 62t superjet motors are 61x cylinders the only difference is in the cases. As far as a 6m6 pipe to a 61x cylinder I am not completely sure

huh, no kidding. isnt the porting a bit different though? im told 61x cylinders are better for freeride, 62t have better top end.

anyone else can confirm they will work? if so im on the hunt for a 61x/62t

All 701 motors in Superjets had the 61X cylinder. 94-95 used the single carb 61X cases. 96 and up used the 62T dual carb cases.
The term 701 62T motor typically refers to a sitdown 701 motor which used both the 62T cases and the 62T cylinder.
For what you are trying to do, stick with the 61X cylinder. The porting of the 62T cylinders is different and more geared towards sitdowns running at higher top speeds.
