exhaust coupler rub on fiberglass

I know that this is like squeezing 10lbs of :):):):) into a 5lb bag, but I'm trying to make this work. As many know, I have been running a 750 motor in my 550 for the last 3 years. However, I'm trying to install a westcoast pipe to replace my old 650 pipe, but the coupler is rubbing the side of the hull. I've tried wedging a piece of hydroturf in between, but that's not happening without moving the motor over an 1/8".

Any suggestions on what to do? I'm worried that it will rub right through the glass. It has been reinforced for surf by Wilkey a few years back.

I'm thinking one more layer of biax in that area OR 2 layers of cloth OR a thin layer of rubber liner I have laying around OR just leaving it.

There are other pipes that work better and fit better. Westcoast is by far and away one of the worst performing pipes. And pia to work on.
