Super Jet Excessive water in hull causing bogging issues! HELP

Hey everyone! 1991 yamaha 650 superjet. Ski has new gaskets new starter, several other new parts! I put it in the water today and everything was going great after about 5-7 minutes of riding the hull was full of water! Pulled the ski out and pumped the water out. Got the ski running again so I placed it back in the water and turned it on. I took the hood off and couldn't observe any water coming through. Only thing I can think of is hood seal? Anyone have any other thoughts or comments! Thanks guys!!!

put the ski on the trailer, back it in the water, start it up with the hood off, watch where the water flows in from. i've been ripping weather stripping off junk cars door and trunk jams for years, trying to determine a good hood seal. if i wasnt so lazy, i'd go to capital rubber and look thru their book of weather stripping designs and specifications and buy the one i need. surf seal guy just knows the right stuff to buy. i'd run it and not think twice about it.

Did what you suggested, had it on the trailer and right where the exhaust comes up to the manifold i had water spraying all inside the hull. I also as a precaution replaced the seal with surf seal. I love the surf seal, i feel it gives it a much better seal. Thanks for the help.
