ever have TOO much steer cable??

i just switched to a shortened pole and now i've got well more than i need of steering cable. what do you guys do about the extra cable?

right now it just loops up out of the motor compartment after the rear firewall then dips down and up into the pole through the breather tube. it comes up a good bit.

what to do?

You can't shorten it - so just run the extra in the bilge.

I'm curious if you could use a FX1 cable. Does anyone know the difference with the FX & SJ steering cable? I know it's shorter, but by how much? Are the ends the same?

The ends are different. Check out the pics.:bigeyes: Pole end on the left. Pump end on the right, The ruler end is at the "notch".

I just cut my AC pole 3 inches and added a lowered bracket too. I pulled the exhaust outlet pipe from the water box and ran the steering cable around the front to take up the extra slack.
