Engine problems involving water in carb?

My freinds have been riding my jetski (better than i have AKA no subs) and last week it stopped starting(but turned over till battery died). So today i had it with a fresh battery and i removed the spark plugs, saw they were filthy(due to a dirty water) and used a lighter to clear out the chamber but the water wouldnt burn. So I know it's some mix of fuel water (partially because of starting fluid sprayed in the intake).

I turned the engine over for 30 seconds w/ spark plugs removed and water is "misting" out of the piston chambers. Is there something else i should do to clean out the water? I think this filth water is keeping it from running because it immediately fouls the plugs.

Also worth noting, it was turning over really badly when i started but after a while and with plugs off it got better and better. I have been riding in salt water about 5 times this summer/spring.

Any advice? If possible i'd like to try to fix it tonight..

Umm i think dirty is the wrong word. "soaked with dirty water" is better. I cleaned the spark plugs off and they had nice gapping and there was spark.

I just flipped it almost upside down and brackish water was running out of the carb. I poured HEET in the carb and in the cylinder then drained it out then turned it over a few times. Still not dry enough to run properly enough unfortunately. maybe it needs to dry out in a heated environment for a day. alaska isnt heated enough!

Remove the carbs and check them for any water intrusion, may need to also clean the entire fuel system.

you dont want it to dry out, of you let it do that you would get rust(most likely too late unfortunately)on your crank.
roll it upside down and hit the starter with the spark plugs out. do this a couple times, roll back over then put some gas in one cylinder and down the carbs put one spark plug in hand tight and start it. most likely it will fire. let run a bit on one plug then stop it after 20 seconds. put the other plug in and run it for at least 10 minutes.

Thanks for the advice, i got it to run for a minute but now it wont run without starting fluid. I'm thinking somewhere water is getting introduced to the gas or something. But thanks for the advice for the people who responded.

So it quit last week because of being flooded in saltwater ?Today you put a fresh battery in it and tried to start it but it did not crank very good but got better as you cranked it more ? is this right?Quit using starting fluid first of all, there is no lubrication in it. squirt mixed gas down the carb's. I would say that you probably have some cylinder damage and quite possibly crank bearing's also, when you flood a motor especially in saltwater you need to get right on it quickly.
