Ok I finally found a way to edit vob files. The reason I've had this problem is because I use a mini dvd camcorder and was never able to edit the files and keep the quality due to conversion processes.

Another thing to be aware of is, when you use the virtualdub program, it will convert your vob file to an avi file without losing quality, only problem is I had an 18 minute clip that converted to a 14.7 gig avi file. make sure you have a computer and editing program that can handle it. If you do, the final product is EXTREMELY good quality. I made a dvd with this process and it looks as good as pro quality stuff.
(watched it on a 61" hd tv and it looked flawless.)
