Other ear troubles

A few weeks ago at the Pismo ride, my helmet got some sand in it and it ended up packing into my left ear along with water. I washed it out, and after a plane flight back it will still not fully pop. Its pretty annoying. I tried the stuff at rite aid to rinse your ear out and everything I could find on google. Its been a while and Im thinking of going to see a doctor. Any home remedies for this?

ear wax candles? got to a herb store or GNC also carries them. my females always used those to clean there ears out. just dont catch your hair on fire lol

You could try a sudafed nasal degongestant and an expectorant like mucinex. I have ear troubles often and this combo will always clear me up after a couple days. Might be worth a try to push out that waxy sand

I'd see a doctor. Jack sutton is getting surgery on his ear tomorrow because at flat water Friday he got (real clean water hahah)water in his ear, and he said that within an hour he could tell his ear was bugging him. Long story short he finally months later went to the doctor and he has a really bad ear infection and they gotta cut stuff out. Save yourself the trouble, see a doctor.

those ear candles are not for wax removal. i have tiny ear canals and they used to plug up with wax. the ear doctor takes a huge syringe and blasts warm water in the hole, blowing out the wax. i rigged up a hose from my shower head so that i can blast out my own ears. i also heard you can use the water pick tooth brush thing to blast out your ears. it sounds like you're getting ran over by a freight train and it hurts a little, but that means you're doing it right.

Ive been trying decongestents, nasal sprays and that rite aid ear cleaner stuff. I dont have any pain anymore, but I still cant hear right out of it. I feel like i just need to swim real deep in some water and it would pop. Needs a good pressure change, but im no doctor. Ill probably be making an appointment next week as I only have till May 30th for medical insurance.

Ever since the last 4th of july we rode in the pass and I busted hard a few times, I havent been able to hear right since. Some days its not bad, but others I cant hear even a 1/4 as good as I used to, my wife gets pissed, lol. Although it is great on mornings I want to sleep in, I dont hear anything.

Horrible idea. Not only does candling not do anything, it is actually harmful.

Surfer trick. drop a few drop of rubbing alchohol in the hole, or soak a Qtip in alchohol and rub around the opening.
It will help draw the moisture out.

If you have a ruptured ear drum, using rubbing alcohol is guaranteed to bring you to your knees. I've seen it happen with my brother in law. :lmao:

I also have ear troubles. I lay on my side on the floor and dump peroxide in my ear and let it bubble for 15 min. Then dump it out and flush it with warm water using an infant nose cleaner thing. Those blue things used to pull buggers out of kids noses.

Then i do the other ear. I do this once a month usually and it works great.

I did that to a perforated ear drum that i got from a big flat slap on the water. Thought it was just water in my ear and put "Swim ear" in my ear. Swim Ear is mostly all alcohol. Needless to say i was flopping around on the floor like a fish in major pain yelling and screaming. It felt like someone rammed a long letter opener in my ear. My cousin and his g/f were laughing their asses off thinking I was faking it! I wasnt. Lotta pain there. Go to the Dr is my prescription.
