e box question

i just got an x-2 and i was wondering about the electric box.? There isn't one. all of the wires are there but not in a box. who does that? thats not safe is it?:bad3:

Picture? Could be a lot of things. Most total loss systems aren't sealed. Most stock boxes don't need to be sealed either but it helps eliminate certain things that your average couch style rider would never look into so the manufacturers seal everything up for everyone.

more than likely its after market. i'm stripping this x-2 bare then painting every thing. how hard would it be to take out the total loss system?

just as hard as taking out a standard ebox

hardest part is pulling the flywheel, everything else is just unbolt and unplug

Most likely if you remove the pickup plate you'll have to setup the static timing again. I'm assuming it's not an MSD ignition or you would've mentioned that. Maybe a more basic total loss?

86 model year did not have an ebox, most everything was out in the open.
