Dual SBN40's on superjet?

This coming up summer is the last season for my 650sx, halfway threw its getting sold to help fund another superjet. The ski has a 750 with dual SBN Ibody 40mm carbs on it [SXR carbs]. I hate the single carb 701's like I have, so I was thinking about swapping carb setups. I was planning on putting stock dual superjet 38's on eventually but since I already have the 40's, why not use those? And then I'll have a single 44 to put back on the 650 and sell it. Any reason not to use the 40's and get 38's instead? Going on my 94 superjet 718 with protec pipe and head.

If you're going to switch to dual carbs, switch to the 62t cases as well if you want a good gain.. Dual carbs on the 61x cases that were designed for a single carb aren't the greatest.
And why do you hate single carbs? My ported 701 hits hard for a 701 with a single 44.

My "gas mileage" with my 61x motor is the same as my buddys roundnose with a 61x and stock pipe. He pulled the original 62t and B-pipe to put in his rickter, and that setup in his RN got better "mileage" then either of our 61x's. Besides, to be honest, single carbs just look all [que hans and frans voice] veak and vimpy, so I want duals.

As for duals on 61x cases, how does the case dictate the intake manifold and carb selection? The case ports should be made to connect to an intake manifold, the manifold should dictate the interaction with the carb(s), so I must be missing something?

I was gonna do some research to back up what I was about to say, but the first thing that came up was a thread like this that you posted a few months ago.

With a 61x/61x setup a properly setup single works very well. If you go to dual carbs on it, you already have to buy a pricey manifold. But, if you go to 62t cases, they have way better airflow(due to reed angle) allowing you to take more advantage of running duals. Plus, you can use those cases for future upgrades and is a way better investment in the long run..
