Dual 44 manifold...

That is the dominator manifold and its around 225 dollars I think. They don't make the cheaper ones anymore. I think nobody does. If you have an OEM 62t manifold Jet works makes a billet adapter that will allow you to bolt on a set of 44 sbns to your stock manifold. You will need to match up the manifold to the 44 mm diameter. It uses the same studs and flange nuts so its quick to do carb removal like the OEM 44s on the blaster 2 motors and uses the wide spacing linkage. It is nice because you can always go back to 38s if you want with out changing manifolds. I just got done doing one for my neighbor and it turned out nice. I don't know the price but I remember him saying it being less than 90.00

the down side of using the 38 manifold is there is a lot less area in the intake tract and it ruins some of the benefit of going to larger carbs

Actually there is plenty of room for the 44's. The runner volume looks similar in size to the after-market manifolds I have seen. I have not compared the dual 38 to the dual 44 on the 760's but they appear very similar. I know the one I did runs just as good as a boat with the after-market manifolds.
A big debate about runner volume was on the seadoo 720 motor. A well known engine builder kept saying it was foolish to go to 44's or even 46 mm let alone modded 46 mm carbs on them engines because of such a small opening at the crankcase. I have seen more speed not just acceleration on limited class HX's with bigger carbs let alone super-stocks that do allow enlarging of the inlet. In the superjet the difference is so minimal if any that I cant see it being a problem

You can purchase an adapter from Pro-Tec that is designed to bolt onto the stock 38mm Yamaha intake manifold and allow the use of the larger 44mm or 46mm Mikuni carburetors. The stock Yamaha 760 intake manifold has an opening of 46mm and the stock 38mm intake manifold can be ported at the top to match the adapter hole size that is tapered from 46mm to 40mm at the bottom. Each intake adapter comes with stainless steel hardware and it's on sale for $15.00 at Pro-Tec’s web site.
