Do you need one to properly install the Deutsch connectors?
I just ordered a few 4 pin sets (for my start/stop switches), and from my TL experience it doesn't appear it would be all that difficult to do.

how much is it at Grainger?

are these the same as the GM weatherpak connectors weve all talked about before?

if so you can do it without, if you are VERY careful ( ive done it- and im rarely careful!)

Hey I have read a few posts about how you do things. LOL J/K:biggrin:

I think I will use the proper tool for the job.

Yes you do need the proper crimp tool for these pins if you want the connectors to be right or you could just put it on the vice and smash it with a hammer.

Thanks for the tip....I def. want to do it right. That's why I am going with these connectors in the first place.

doing them right meant soldering them to me, and the little rubber flanged O rings still seal off the connector.

wire is copper, conductors are coated aluminum, they corrode eventually in my experience.

But to each his/her own.

I can order from grainger at a slight company discount if that helps you any.

I also solder them after crimp for for that extra security.
I do the same on my plug wires.

You guys are funny.
I need to do plug wires, too. I bench-cranked my TL motor this weekend at Phill's garage - we had a few nasty drinks - and waddaya know, one plug wire got caught by the coupler. Clean cut.

I want to see that engine strapped to a go cart, with a bucket of water for cooling.

Well, it just so happens Phill & Snackem will be over at my garage this weekend.

However, my plan was to install the motor in my Roundnose.

You got me thinking, though.
