I bought a Deka and a knock off just like that, but found the knock off for $20. Shipping was $14, so I got the whole batt for $34. Less than half the cost of the Deka through Bohannon Battery. Bohannon was prolly the cheapest I could find the Deka and shipping was included for $69...making that a good deal, but I thought I'd try one of these as a cheap insurance policy in case the Deka dies on me. Weight and dimensions are the same...plus it's a sealed, glass mat battery. Hard to beat that price.

If you're going to use it as your primary battery, get the real thing. Apex batteries and Adventure Power batteries use the original manufacturers specs in their descriptions. The real specs of the battery are different. I bought a 4lb adventure power battery a few years ago that replicated all the smaller batteries that people were using. That one wouldn't even turn my ski over. Last year, I bought an apex battery that was based off of an interstate battery. It weighed 2-3 lbs more than it was supposed to.

the interstate sealed agm batteries are bomb proof! I had one fall off the hood of my truck and crack... It leaks a tiny bit but still works like new.

For a charging system, yes. For total loss, you'd be ok but you'd have to charge it everyday and most likely can't run a bilge pump.

I've been running that Adventure Power battery alongside my Deka EXT9 for over two years now (with total loss) and no issues. I found another link for a reasonably priced alternative.

I can't speak for or against it, but I was in the same boat a few years ago when I bought the Adventure power battery. The only downside is the posts/terminals are not "fixed" terminals, meaning that you have to keep up with the little nut that fits inside the terminal.
