Super Jet D-cutting a Riva plate??

Hey guys. I have a jet dynamics plate that I love but I want to play around with a more freestyle designed Plate. That being said, I don't have a stock plate and currently can't find one for sale. I found a new riva plate that I might be able to score for around $80 shipped. Would this plate be a decent buy to d-cut and use? It doesnt look considerably longer than stock. I wouldn't be too disturbed hacking it up for that price, I just want to make sure it's a good candidate. I plan on just swapping plates depending on my mood when I hit the water. Thanks for any input!

i had a long racing plate on my ski when i bought it used. (i think it was a works one) i d -cut it right away and then cut it again straight across at about the turn nozzle pivot when i shortened my hull 6 in. the feeling i got was that it just turns quicker and slides around better with it cut flush and then d cut. i liked it
