Makes the front end lighter from what I hear.

Idea is to make it easier to get the front end out of the water when jumping.

On the flip side, it makes it harder to keep the nose down when you want to ride faster, so it will porpose more.

I don't have a D-cut, but that's what it does from what I gather. Sounds like something I wouldn't like.

I strongly suggest you learn how to ride the ski with a regular rideplate to where you are in absolute control of porpoising.

Because it will get worse with a D-Cut.

if you ride flatwater stick with stock.
if you ride surf it is a must, regardless of skill level.
in surf dolphinism isnt as much of a problem.

do a search!!

That depends on the rider and his/her preferences.

My ski handles better than any other I've tried.

yeah, I like the way it handles better with the cut than without.

but the main thing, is that the nose is light, like it feels when you are nearly out of fuel, it feels like that all the time, when I first started riding with the D cut, I would jump a wake, and land with the ski nose up, on top of me, it really makes it easier to get that attitude of the boat.

By crappy I mean really slippery, it seems to work better for freeride/freestyle but for just riding and carving it really sucks. This is how mine looks...

with a D cut plate my rolls were nose high, I installed a regular plate and they leveled out more........ no D plate for me.

But, I have not run a plate that was built specifically with a D Cut in it,
