Freestyle D-Cut ride plate or not?

I have a 2007 SJ with the normal mods: head, exhaust, MSD, footholds, trim, Wamilton ride plate ect... It is a stock length hull and I ride 100% flat water. Is there any noticeable advantage to D-cut my ride plate? I will be attempting backflips this summer off boat wakes and was just wondering what the Pros-Cons are.... Thanks!

Yes there is a difference. in you need that nose to come up the more the back end you need to lose. easy and most cost effective is to D cut that plate, next would be to cut the back end, but dont do hull mods till after you try out the d cut plate.

I don't know if that's necessarily true. I haven't seen a single person on this forum complain about ride quality after cutting their hull. Everyone seems to be thrilled with what it brings. If you're looking to bring the nose up, tubbies, D-Cut, and hull shortening, or any combination of the three will get that done quick.

I personally cut -3" off my hull, added tubbies, and am planning to find the perfect medium through fiddling with my ride plate length.

Try to find a stock ride plate for cheap before hacking up your wamiltons. Just gives the option of going back to full length if you don't like it. Always a good idea to have two ride plates.
