if your bracket is already 1" short, i wouldn't take any more than 3, if you ever plan to do short turn plate... I ended up with about 3 3/4" plus cold fusion plate.. haven't had it in the water yet since the ice hasn't come off just yet, but standing in the tray it seems a bit much.. maybe it won't be after i ride it a bit... I'm 6'0.. I should have it in the water sometime in the next week if you'd like a report..

I'm -5", I'm 5, 8" tall. Using 50mm riser bars for some adjustability. I used epoxy resin to glue together.

People should mention if they ride surf stance or holds. I ride surf stance and -5 is perfect for me. When cruising ill stand in the front of the tray. If using holds the pole is a bit short for me.

I'm in the same boat. I cut 2" above the bracket so about -3" total cut and installed the CF turn plate for another -1" to -2". I think it's too short but everyone says the trailer test is worthless. I'll find out this weekend...

I am 5' 10" and I cut mine -2.5". It helped, but I would like to cut it alittle further, or buy a -1"/2" steering setup. Waiting for it to break before I pull the trigger. You always can go shorter for about $15, and some time.
