Checking my prop shaft after removing the pump I noticed it had a good amount of wobble, not massive, but enough to raise concern. So I ordered a new shaft with a pump rebuild since I was sure that water got past the seals with the bend in the shaft. While waiting on the new one to arrive with the pump tore down, old bearings still on the shaft and impeller off decided to see if I could see the bend by looking down the shaft and couldn't. So I threw the bearings in the bench vise and spun the shaft, no wobble anymore. Thought to myself weird so rolled the shaft across the floor, no apparent bend, put a straight edge along the shaft still no bend. There was water getting past the bearing seals from this for sure because there was still water there, the bearings are still smooth with tight tolerances, the bend was noticeable looking down the shaft when still in the pump and the wobble was consistent with no play in the shaft.
Any Ideas anyone????
At least I'll have a spare propeller shaft in case the new one goes bad. Jetskimaniac is amazingly Fast with great customer service!
