Possibly but not necessarily. The crank in my SS865 is a trued and welded OEM crank and it's never been raced.
It was available at a good price when I was shopping for one. No other reason.

thanks . i had got them on ebay and was going to send them out to get port and epoxy. crank is shot and the journals have been welded too. thank god for ebay guarntee lol.

The only one that will take welded crank cores I know of is SBT and they weld most of theirs.
