Thanks. I was debating between doing that or actually welding it. Scared that welding it might warp it though. Anybody have good luck with jb weld on stuff like that?
I welded a jug on a seadoo 787 that had a 2" vertical crack at the top of the jug. I welded that two years ago and the guy is still running the ski with no problems. If the aluminum is not corroded too badly and you heat it up/cool it down properly it should hold just fine. I have also had good luck using JB weld on aluminium engine blocks, but have never use it on cylinders like your situation.
