Its time to get the old 88 out of mothballs and weeds and get her running and sold. Thanks to Crashski, I have a powerplant to throw in it, it will be for sale soon. Its been sitting out for over 10 years now, and the SBT engine should bring new life to the old girl. I have about 95% of all the parts, need just a few odds and ends.

This is going fast so far, I have the engine bay ready to accept the motor, but am waiting for new bearings for the pump and driveline holder. I found a site on ebay and ordered 4 new bearings for $12 and change shipped. I will probably swap a few parts from my current 650 motor to finish the motor, as I will be swapping in a 750 soon. All in all, it won't take much to get it back on the water and down the road!:woot:

Today, rebuilt the pump, got the impeller installed. Rebuilt the driveshaft holder and got it mounted, installed driveshaft. Motor is all assembled, stator and flywheel installed, mounted starter and wiring. Motor is ready to go in the hull as soon as I mount the pump. I like the pump solid so I can shim the motor and locate the driveshaft holder in the best location. Not really that much more work to do, but I'm in no hurry its raining.

Motor, pump, pipe, waterlines all hooked up now, I just need to get going on the electric box and install a throttle cable and throttle. And I have to oversize the threads in the pump for the intake grate. (stripped).

Today I got the stator wires spliced back together and in there place, as well as sorting out the different colored wires on the cdi. They were from a later year and completely different colors. Put some gas in her and BAM! Soon as the lines were purged with fuel it fired right up, smoked like crazy as it had fogging oil in it. Just need to tie up loose ends now and get over to the lake for a water test.

When are you going to get going on the X2 again???

I did clean out a bit, and start laying out the cases and crank. Need to do some cleaning on them, and then put it together.

Cases and crank clean, time for assembly.
