Cooling Lines?

where does the second waterline for a dual cooling set up come into the engine compartment. on the instructions it says it is used for a drain on the overheat sensor on the stock pipe i now have a factory pipe and i cannot see where it comes in apperantly somehwere on the bulk head? Also does the water inlet for the factory pipe come in at the bottom of the headpipe and discharge out the top?

Thanks Guys!

what do u mean, u might have to use the stock bilge tube for the duel cooling or run a new line, u have to tap the pump for second line, and tap the exhaust manifold for the second input.

i have already tapped the pump and ran the lines as the instructions say where you run the new line from the pump to the fitting just above the oem water line from there i am going to run the line to the inlet on the head pipe so one line is cooling the motor and one line is cooling the pipe

On a SJ, you run the 2nd cooling line to the through hull tube that is normally the stock bilge. I installed another tube so I could run dual cooling AND keep my stock bilge pump. Then on the inside, I ran both lines to the bottom of the exhaust manifold. Then one line goes from the head pipe to the back of the head, one line goes from the front of the head pipe to a pisser but T's off to the stinger. You will also need to have another fitting coming off of the front of the head to a 2nd pisser.

Should be similar for the SXR. I did the exact same on my X2.

What instructions are you following???

Just got your pm. The sxr has an stock overboard tube that dumps into the pump cavity. Use this tube when converting to dual cooling. It is the tube right by the battery. You will then want to run the existing line overboard. If you are running two lines to the manifold the you only need two overboard fittings on the side of the hull. Of you are running one to the pipe and one to the manifold then you will have 3 overboard fittings. Feel free to pm me with if you have more questions.

Edit: Here is a pic from one of my earlier threads. The rube with the clear line is the stock overboard tube. Use this one for your second cooling line. Either that or use your stock siphon bilge line. I chose to keep that on mine. As far as the factory pipe input to the head pipe, it really does not matter. Some say if you are going for bottom end then feed the water to the top fitting. If you are going for top end then feed the water to the bottom fitting. The theory is that the water is cooler when entering the exhaust chamber for the desired screw setting/power band and cooling the exhaust wave quicker for that power band. I have tried both ways and have not noticed anything significant.

Here is a thread where I installed the dual cooling
