Cooling circuit plumbing for squarenose...

Just bought a 92 SJ, I don't know much about skis, and plumbing is not right. I'm afraid of overheating it (I haven't taken it out yet). The hose from the pump nozzle is gone and capped off (left side of the nozzle to a steel line left of the pump housing). The side exit is disconnected, with nothing hooked to it.

Here's what I do have: On the right side of the shaft, I have a hose (about 3/8"ID) coming in right to a white valve looking thing (ya I know, real technical). From there, it goes to the exhaust manifold, the rear side of it. Another exits the exhaust manifold on the right and goes up toward the head to a "T" with one side going to the head, and the other (vacuum sized 1/8"?) going to the right side of the exhaust box (stock exhaust) near the front. That's it unless I missed something.

It all just doesn't seem right.

Thanks in advance,
Steve

sounds to me like the stock bilge was disconnected. is this a stock setup?
the nipple on the nozzle is for a pisser(probably came off something else). your cooling nipple is always gong to be where the most pressure is, closest to the impeller.

Ok, found camera and took some pics.

Here you can see it's missing a hose on the left side

Here is the white valve I am refering to and where it enters on the right of the shaft

Here from the valve it connect to the rear of the exhaust. The one with the plastic wire loom covering goes up to the "T" on the head.

Here is said "T".

Small hose from "T" to exhaust.

Hope that helps.

Oh, that makes more sence, since it has an aftermarket bilge. You can see it in the 2nd pic.

The white valve thing is a water strainer. The plumbing looks fine the way it is. The stock bilge is disconnected and the aftermarket bilge is in it's place now. Check to make sure the strainer is clear, then ride and keep an eye on things to make sure nothing is too hot.
