Converting the 750 start/stop to a lanyard

I know you have to change the face plate from one with an sxr. ($25 from the dealer)

But do you also have to change the "start" button out to the one of the sxr, or are the identical?

Btw, is the sxr one black, if so, what year sx/sxr had the grey one, so it will match my ski.

Start buttons are the same you just change out the front cover.

Ok, thats what I thought, Now what year front cover can I use that is still gray?

wth, looks like if i order a black one, ( one from an sxr) its $22, if I order one from the 98 sxi its $38, maybe Ill deal with the black.

Same exact part number for them both, looks like im going with the 22 dollar one.
