It would be interesting if we could set up a Sticky poll that rates the various companies on these items. Something like the new itemized feedback format that eBay makes available about rating sellers on their item quality, shipping speed, shipping price, etc.
I thought about this after readings Darin's assessment of the various companies in the knock-off rant thread. Over time, as more and more people give their assessments on various aspects of the company (innovation, service, quality, price) the rule of numbers would reveal truth and help people make better decisions.
It would also let companies have a realistic view of how they are perceived and (hopefully) help them make changes to better their business model.
