Custom/Hybrid Cold fusion steering on adjustable XMW pole?

About 6 years ago I took an XM pole and bored it out to accept stock bushings and stock steering and loved it.
I just recently purchased an XM comp pole, does anybody know if the hole in the steering is still to small for OEM bushings and if so, are there any issues boring it out to run OEM bushings and the Cold Fusion Pro Series steering?

I have done the last two x adj poles with CF.I don't recall how much,but l took it to a reputable machine shop and the drilled it out a touch.Make sure they open just enough so it will be snug.lt will loosen up as you use it.

Also,l had to use a crok collar to make it work

What chinpad would you run????? Doest the CF steering stand up some? I know you cannot get the RRP under the chinpad on the new xmetal pole.

I used the coldfusion on my xmetal pole the pad was not an issue. I non comp pole and that was about two yr ago that I bought it. I just got a big enough drill bit in a drill press and drilled out the hole. The billet is pretty soft so it wasn't hard at all to do. I want to say it was a 1 inch bit.

What chinpad would you run????? Doest the CF steering stand up some? I know you cannot get the RRP under the chinpad on the new xmetal pole.

I had not considered this. A quick search shows that the CF steering is about as low profile as you could possibly get and the RRP is a giant chunk of aluminum that is entirely too complicated.

If l had used straight bars it would have fit well under the pad,but used 50mm riser bars and l had to grind the pad to fit.And also grind the stop/pad holder thingie on one side,so your steering will be smooth.
