coffmans on a fx1.... rev limiter?

i have a coffmans exhaust opn my fx1... when i am giving it full throttle it seems like their is a rev limiter.... 3/4 throttle it rips. should i get rid of the rev limiter or is their a way around this... any input will help thanks guys

Sounds like it could be jetting did you just put the pipe on? Did you adjust the carb? If thats not it it could be that you are blowing through the prop. Is it chewed up is the pump chewed up? I would check that stuff first.

sounds like carb tuning to me, what jets you got in carb and is it a single 44 (stock)?

yeah the pump is in good shape.... i have not messed with a thing i just bolted on my pipe and i am having this problem... all stock single carb... should i change my jetting??

You will probably need to go up on your jetting and possible down on your pop off spring. Not sure what stock is but maybe try 120 pilot and 142 main and a 95gram spring to start. If you have not even tried turning adjustments on carb try that 1st, go out w/ pilot (bottom)1/4 turn at a time until bottom end is correct then do the same w/ main. If this does not fix your issue change the jets.

2.3 needle and seat/ with stock flamearrestor
not stock: 2.3 needle and seat
142.5 main jet
14 pounds pop off
3 1/4 to 1 1/4 turn on high speed
1/2 to 3/4 on low speed

also you need to but a msd ign thing to take off my rev limiter and set it higher. hope this fx-1 comes alive
