claening crank?

Whats best for washing a crank? mine has a good covering of dust.

This is a multi opinion question lol. I like to use WD-40 with a pee tube and lot's of it.

Just go to Home Depot or a Lowe's and buy 2 gals of paint thinner, made from 100% mineral spirits, pour in a plastic tub about the size of the crank, dip in and give it a bath, take out and blow dry or sit overnight on paper towels to air dry, then oil all the bearings with your favorite 2 smoker oil.
