City Council is removing all fire pits from San Diego

On Monday the City Council voted to remove all fire pits from San Diego beaches (including mission bay/fiesta island) to save on maintenance costs.

Please phone the city council or anyone you know with influence to request the following:

Direct a small portion of the Mission Bay lease revenue (collected from hotels and business on city land) to the maintenance of the fire pits. $4 million dollars is still unallocated in 2009. 3.5% of that would secure the fire pits. Please call these people and tell them that you want the fire pits. This issue is not being broadcast by the media so only a few people know about this. If you don't act, no one will.
