Charging system question.

Yeah, my orange ski decided to have the battery run dead yesterday while I was out just messing around. Is the draw of 2 500gph bilge pumps too much for the stock battery/charging system? The battery was freshly charged from a weekend before.

How much of a charge does the stock charging system provide?

enough to run 2 500gph bilges and STILL keep it charged.

check the voltage with the ski off, and with the engine running

should be 12.7 or more for a 100% charged battery ( ski off)

should be 14+ Volts with the engine running.

why did you have to charge the battery the weekend before?

if the charging system is working, they rarely ( if ever) need to be charged.

Hey dude,

I figured out why we got the funny test results yesterday.

remember that 12 amp charger could only get the dead battery to 13 volts?

the stock charging system ( 3-4 amps probably) could barely increase the battery voltage at all.

in theory.

i THINK with a fresh ( 12.7 volt) batterym, you would see some slight increase in voltage on the battery.
