Blackjack will taper bore and add a thin tube atomizer to stock 38mm carbs. I had a set and liked them. I think he charges like $190/carb. So now you have to weigh the options of just going to a set of 44s instead. At least with the 44s, you can then have him Blackjack them when it's time for another upgrade.

I like the smaller taper bored carbs over most of the larger aftermarket carbs. They flow better than stock but still have lots of carb signal so they are much easier to tune. I will take small, well tuned carbs over large borderline tuned carbs any day.

I currently have a set of 38's done by Jetworks and they hit great on a ported 760. I have never tried, (nor will I ever get to (because its the wifes ski)), a set of 46's to see how much more power I can get out of the engine.

Blackjacks make great power but the cost is decreased fuel economy.

I'm one of the rare people I guess that's not a fan of modded carbs. Took off the jetworks modded 38's / filled crossover...too hard to keep "just right" here where the air temp / density are constantly changing. Stock 38's / unfilled crossover and lightened flywheel together had more hit, and much less fiddling.

So, if you aren't comfortable choosing the right jets, using a snail, using a tach, etc just leave them alone.
