Blaster carbon tech reeds?

Just installed carbon tech reeds in my 701. After many mods already done I thought I'd give them a try this year. Instructions indicate reeds have slight curve so I know Ive got them installed correctly. I noticed on each reed I have a .005" gap in the outside corner. I have always thought reeds should never have any gap at all. Anyone use these and found similar gap? Instructions also indicate some gap will not affect performance. How much gap? Anyone?

.008 " after closer examination. considered a small gap? Not for new unused $90.00 reeds !! I sent them back and they treated me great with new reeds. I just installed them tonight and now I have no gap at all.
