I'm rebuilding my sbn44 and when I took it apart I noticed that according to the diagram I was missing a gasket in the pump. The diagram shows the outer pump cover followed by a paper gasket and then the clear plastic piece and then another paper gasket followed by the middle section of the pump. I was missing the paper gasket that fits between the clear plastic piece and the middle section of the pump. The ski ran great so I'm just making sure that the diagram is correct and I need to add that paper gasket?

so it probably doesnt apply to your carb

I saw that same diagram and according to that one I need a paper gasket on both sides of the clear plastic diaphragm. I put both in and it starts and runs normal so I'll run it

My 38 only has the paper and the plastic, no second paper.

I haven't rebuilt any of the 44s I have yet, but the 38 and the 44 rebuild kits are the same kit. The kit I used had 3 pieces of paper in it. One was for my pump. The other 2 were identical and not for my pump. i got my kit from the Yamaha dealer.
