On larger sized carbs (non-38s), why would you use an external pump?

I believe Full Spectrums and Novi do, but why?

It's not because of a limit on fuel flow, since body mounted pumps are capable of ~110hp @ 6000rpm and interpolated to 7000rpm that's 128.3hp, EACH.

So then, why use a pump blockoff and run an external fuel pump?

Thanks #0, guess it is like tuning a carb or routing water with a B-pipe... there is no definitive answer.

It is my understanding that it has something to do with racing and the gs getting pulled. I think I read a thread somewhere about this. something about turning real hard one way can actually cause a bog and the external fuel pump solves this. I really cant remember but if you do a search on the other site i bet you will find something.
