is the carb taken apart or assembled, some products would not be good for o-rings and gaskets.

what part of the keys are you riding?

dipping is for lazy people. carb cleaner and a single bristle from a wire brush will clean out everything you need in no time.

Are you looking for a high or low carb dip? High carb I'd go with a spicy southwest black bean dip. Low carb maybe a nice spinach and artichoke.

OK... on the serious note... I would not recommend this (I should patent it, but I'm giving it away...) J/K
This method used to work great as a quick fix for the race cars and MX bikes 30 years ago. Should still work today.
1. Get a bucket and some kerosene (that's the secret part, don't tell anyone.)
2. Buy beer. Whatever you prefer.
3. Drink some beer.
4. Unscrew the carburetor, pour some kerosene into the bucket and dip the carb in. You don't need it "dipped", the kerosene finds it's way everywhere. I still hate that smell.
5. Drink some beer.
6. Visit your GF. Take her to the movies, have a nice walk on the beach (don't mind the weather), hit the bar, get a quick (...) on the way home.
7. Now is the critical moment. Pull the carb out of the bucket.
8. Put it in the kitchen sink. Wash it. Use dish soap.
9. Drink some beer. The carb does not need to get dry while you are taking your time, it's designed to withstand situations.
10. Look at the carb. Drink more beer.
11. Now you have two choices:
a) fresh water used carburetor: put it back and just ride. If your motor blows up, you deserved it. Fresh water is for fishing.
b) salt water used carburetor:
b01) use your tooth brush on any open surfaces you can reach.
b02) find an electrical cord... anything... a cord from the lamp at your hotel room works the best. All you need is a single 1-2" long wire from that cord. Use it to clean up all those little holes.
12. Have another beer.

Or you can go to your local Yamaha shop and ask for a bottle of Yamaha carb cleaner, find a small plastic bowl to put it in, put the carb in the bowl, open the bottle and pour it in, the Yamaha carb cleaner will not eat the plastic or rubber parts of the carb but will remove any and all fuel residues and leave the brass parts looking like new. This will of course work better if you pull the fuel pump and main diaphragm plates off first. Leave it in the carb cleaner as long as you like.
