Carb Cleaning

I have a Kawasaki TS (i know) but my son loves it and can't get rid of it (okay, i kinda like it too) So to make a long story short, I need to clean the carb and I don't know how. Now I am mechanically inclined and have taken the motor apart and am now doing reassembly. I asked my husband to let me figure it out and if I had questions, be able to ask him. I want to do this by myself. Any help appreciated. :mischievous:

What brand of carb does it use? I don't know what Kawi uses, I thought it was Keihin? If ya let me know I can get ya some good info :biggthumpup:

take the pump cover off, blow out all the crud with carb cleaner ( wear goggles, it WILL get in your eye, and it friggin BURNS)

look for a small screen/filter near where the feed line goes in, remove it with needle nose pliars and clean it out.

spray the carb cleaner in every little passage way that goes into the carb throat, you can see the spray coming thru to know when its cleaned out.

put it all back together real carefully and you wont even need new gaskets or diapragm if you care careful and dont tear anything.

some of the screws will be easy to strip so be careful, use the right size screwdriver.

they are fairly simple carbs.

jetskiqueen, remove the flame arrestor, the cable, and the fuel lines then unbolt the carb from the manifold. remove the screws off from the carb and take apart slowly, while paying attention to the order that the parts come apart so you know how they go back together. you should get a rebuild kit for it if youre taking it apart. also, if you switch to premix, you wont have to worry so much about the carb gumming up.
