Can cranks be rebuilt on your own?

My crank is binding on one of the rods. Can I repair it myself with new bearings? I've messed with everything but cranks and bearings. Please clue me in.

Thanks,
Chad

It's better left to a shop with the right tools. You need a press to disassemble/reassemble the crank. The hard part is that it needs to be balanced and assembled correctly.

Hmm, sounds like a damn turbo, the balancing is what will get ya. What about those hotrod cranks, are those possible?

I don't think many people balance cranks, I've only seen one that looked like it's been balanced.

However, cranks absolutely have to be trued. Truing (sp?) ensures that the rods are 180 degrees out of phase.
