Other Can anyone help a brother with my ski not charging the battery while running?

My battery sits at 12.4 volts when off when it's on and running it barely recharges, it goes up by .5 ma. Is this normal. Since wavedaze the ski has killed 2 batteries, although I started using a smaller sized battery Deka etx16 to Deka etx12. What can I look for to see if I have an issue?

A healthy battery should sit near 13.2V
You might check the resistance between positive and negative battery cable with the battery disconnected.
If you get 1k or less, the voltage regulator is likely damaged. It's an inexpensive part.
If that isn't the problem, the lighting coil on the stator may be damaged.
