Custom/Hybrid can a protec cdi be fixed?

i have a protec cdi on my fx1 that no longer has spark can it be fixed? if not when a stock cdi is modded (no rev limiter) does it change the rpm/timing curve? also what makes a cdi go out. what is the difference between a protec cdi and a msd enhancer? i know this is allot of questions any impute is appreciated.:puppy_dog_eyes:

all Pro-Tec CDI were just modified OEM units and didn't have anything to due with the curve. With that in mind I'll have to say the MSD enhancer has the advantage with a slightly better curve and adjustable rev limiter setting.

thanks for that is there a commen pArt that burns out that I can replace/fix?
