broken links all over

This is agrevating for me as well because I like to search around for old information. I get the impression that at some point the forum moved to a different "forum format" (if that makes any sense) all the text was brought over but the links don't work by because the information is now technically in a different location.

Or something like that.

Usually the context around the link can be used for a Google search that will find the old thread

Google search works a lot better than the search built into the forum.

For example, if you see a funny craigslist post and don't copy the text into a quote here, as soon as the seller deletes the item, the page poofs and the link will never take you to that item description again.

A lot of the links go to websites and pages that have been shut down over time. That is why when you find really good info you should copy and paste the info and upload the photos to this site.

For anybody that still uses the site search function and hates it..you can Google search for results on a specific website very easily.
In the Google search bar just type something like backflip my 440 site:www.x-h2o.com and you will get way better results than the built in forum search function.

using google brings up the broken links that are in the X, its true it may also bring you to many other sites that are not broke, but the broken links are very prevalent here.
