I ended up paying a bit more than I wanted to, but the hull is in great shape, compression is good and its the peak time of the season, so what the heck.

Thanks guys!

slamb33 - The turf is what it is, I wanted to rip it off at first and put black diamond down, but its in good shape and to be honest the retro look of it is kind of growing on me. Its different that's for sure.

icecoled007 - I picked it up here in Michigan.

I took it out today and it runs great, I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of it being that its all stock. One of the first things its going to need is footholds. I manged to get some pretty good air on it and it was scary not being able to keep the tray under me.

cool good deal, that is some crazy turf, retro for sure. when you do the foot holds you can figure something out.

nice skis.

Thanks again, I'm debating on putting in some foot straps or something for now. I wish I could figure something out to get me through the season at least, I don't really want to mess with it that much right now, save the big stuff for over the winter.

yeah I hear you but by the time you mess around and get the straps properly mounted you might as well just get the holds in there...

I think I will keep the stock plate, I like how it rides right now. What do you guys usually do about the front hood latch? I managed to tighten it up so its a little more secure, but it doesn't seem like it will last that long. I'm thinking about putting some hood straps on it.

Here are a few more pictures of the engine in the daylight.

I'm kind of stuck in a dilemma. After riding the FX over the weekend I don't think I will really use the Blaster that much to justify keeping it around, so I'm already thinking about selling it. Should I sell it now since its at a high point of the season, or should I keep it around and rob some parts off it over the winter and then part it out?

edit - After thinking about it I don't think I could bare to strip down the Blaster, its too mint. I was thinking that I could keep the pump, carb and maybe the crank, but I would rather keep it together and sell it.

I'm wondering how the FX-1 drive-shaft compares to the SJ and Blaster. Could a different shaft be used to set the pump back when swapping to the 144? Maybe that would be a bad idea? It looks like I'm going to have to sell the Blaster to fund some upgrades for over the winter: ADA Girdled Head, B Pipe, 61x/62T Cases w/Dual 44's

I decided to replace the fuel lines on the FX-1 and swap the primer over to the bulb style. I also managed to tighten up the front hood latch some more by replacing the pin with a new one that is a little bit longer.
