Betty Ford for my TL

I wanted to send this thing off to JSS for some rehab and make it look fancy, but my budget is busting every day I'm on the X, or PWC, or Ebay, or...(add any hardware store here). So I tried to save a little coin and dress this puppy up myself. All in all it was in good shape to start with so I didn't have to do any serious "turd polishing" like the meistro at JSS. This is just one mans 'hack-job' at making a TL look decent. I still gotta add my brain on/off switch and inline fuse. Let me know what you guys think. Anything else look to be amiss?

Good luck on keeping your build within budget. I've exceeded mine by almost 150%. I will have one sweet a$$ ski though...:brap:

You won't regret sending it to JSS. I sent John my entire electrical system to perform his magic on. Well worth the $$.

I agree on great work by JSS. McDog's was done by him, but I figured I'd give it the old 'Home Depot' try. It only cost me a few bucks to complete. If it doesn't do so well I may be at JSS's front door step looking for help. We'll see. I wired up my analog TL and it has worked all last year, but the wires were a rats nest. I wish I had taken the time to do this on that setup.

This system looks good.

I am trying to perfect my setup now. I used my lunch break plus some to get taps and bits at ACE, after im all set to leave I find out they are out of #35 & #29 wire bits. Makes me so angry, and my Batt. cable to terminal solder joints suck.....

this is a better setup than that ol anny. What kind of timing you going to run?

I'm running around 28 degrees advance, 3/1000 retard @ 8500 on the analog TL in my SN 701/61x. Was thinking of copying that and seeing whats what. Planning on porting the cylinder, new carbs/reeds, new head, bpipe, solas hooker for the RN I bought off Boykid.

Looks really good and looks very close to how JSS would do it but I will make a recommendation. You should get rid of the connectors you have on there and solder and shrink wrap them instead. It will be fine in freshwater but if you touch saltwater...you are going down. lol
