use an air chisel. be careful though you can end up going through the hood if you don't pay attention, but it will only take about 15 minutes to get it out.
heat gun and chisel and go slow. I did one slowly and carefully because I couldn't damage the paint on the hood. It worked fine and the paint didn't get damaged. The next one I did was rushed and I put a few dings in the hood. It should take you at least 3 beers, maybe more.
that green stuff is unbelievable. id heat the crap out of it and smack it pretty damn good with a small pry bar and hammer and it didn't budge. might have to invest in a air chisel this week to clean up the excess crap.
